The project to develop what became Arkestra started when django CMS was still very much in its infancy. They grew up together.
Some django CMS development was actually conceived as part of the Arkestra project and created on behalf of Cardiff University School of Medicine: for example, django CMS’s excellent plugin architecture.
Naturally, Arkestra makes good use of django CMS plugins. It also makes use of other key functions, such as the the django CMS placeholder mechanism and the menu system.
